If it wasn’t for my lovely mother, I probably never would have had this setting for my Self Portrait Studio Shoot. I love the whole elegance and gracefulness of this particular picture, how the red backdrop just pops agains the black dress I’m wearing. Along with the low back of the dress and the pearl necklace, I believe it to have created the absolute perfect evening like look.
I knew almost right away that for my Self Portrait shoot, I wanted to portray someone who is somewhat in a dark time in their life. So with my imagination, I came up with “Runaway”. A young person who feels that life at home isn’t fulfilling enough and is not beneficial in any way. Thus, they take the necessary belongings with them and attempt to jump trains. Since not every time is successful, in the process becomes very dirty, distressed, and drained.
I absolutley love this picture from the Studio Portrait assignment…the whole 50’s retro era is probably one of my favorite times in history so I couldn’t not portray that whole look in this photo shoot. By my model wearing a bandana and wearing a cat eye makeup look, I feel the 50’s pin up girl was shown quite well here.
Altered Landscape Assignment
This unique texture overlay adds a very old and retro feel to this maybe once plain old big open field photo. The different spots and wear marks make it look as if it has been through a lot or maybe passed down through many different generations.
